Photo Shoot Rules and Ettiquette

Cosplay Photoshoots and meetups are a great way to interact and meet fellow attendees who appreciate the same things you do!

Meetups also count! Whether it’s J-Fashion, itabags, Japanese Wrestling – there is something for everyone!

What’s a shoot captain? Someone who applies to run a photo shoot!

Are photographers provided for each  photo  shoot? No, but anyone is free to ask a photographer to join or take personal photos on their phone or other personal device!

Set Up & Tear Down

Shoot Captains (Those who apply to run a shoot) should arrive at the photoshoot location 5 minutes PRIOR to the photoshoot to gauge attendance and make any last minute adjustments.

Captains are responsible for ensuring that the photoshoot begins and ends promptly on time. Captains should remain aware of the time limit and wrap up 5 minutes before the next scheduled shoot.

Captains are responsible for the photoshoot area during their time. The location should be exactly as it was found and should not be left in a mess. Participants may help in any cleanup of the photoshoot area, however.

Scheduled Shoots and Meetups Have Priority

Attendees are welcome to utilize the area in any downtime between scheduled shoots. However, remember to be respectful of any scheduled shoots. Once it is time for a scheduled shoot to begin, that group has priority to use that location and it is expected that anyone not participating in the theme of that shoot is to leave the area.

Be Courteous and Respectful

If you are attending a photoshoot, please be courteous to other participants and photographers; do not block shots, do not touch items or equipment that does not belong to you, do not be loud and/or obnoxious to anyone.

Please be respectful to your Shoot Captains and follow their direction throughout the photoshoot. They have volunteered their time to organize this photoshoot/meetup!

If you disagree with the way the shoot is being run, excuse yourself from the photoshoot.

If something or someone is making you feel uncomfortable regarding the shoot in a way that violates Kitsune kon’s code of conduct and overall security policy, please let a security or any staffer know.

Photo shoots are also welcome to have music as long as It is not too loud, inappropriate for public and disturbing other people in public. We don’t want to attract negative attention to the event And have new rules added during the event from the venue or local agencies.
