Boffer Room/Foam Fighting room Hours of Operation 2024:
Friday and Saturday: 11 am to 8 pm CST
Sunday: 11 am to 5 pm CST
Amtgard is one of the largest LARP (Live Action Role Play) communities across the United States (and then some!). While we’re known for our charming Role Play skills, the most notable and popular area of Amtgard is the Boffer Sport (use of ‘boffer foam’ weapons instead of metal or medieval replicas).
This section of Kitsune Kon is called “The Boffer Room”. This offers a safe space with experienced players (some of over 10 YEARS) to start YOUR LARP JOURNEY in the BEST way possible. When you enter the room you’ll be greeted by an experienced player who will give you a quick session before practicing with you. Once you’ve got the idea, you’re on your way to the BATTLEFIELD where you can test your newly found skills with other people!
It’s as easy as that! And Don’t Worry! There are TONS of protocols to make sure the equipment we’re using is safe. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for abuse of rules or equipment.
The rules are simple:
Don’t be a jerk!
No hitting in the face or neck.
If you get hit in a limb, you “lose” the limb. “Lose” 2 limbs, you’re “dead”.
If you get hit in the chest, stomach, back, or butt, you’re “dead”!
Like it? Love it? Want to do it all the time instead of just Kitsune? Amtgard is EVERYWHERE! You can start coming to a local meet up NEAR YOU! The LOCAL parks are Green Bay, Appleton, and Madison. ( but there are SO MANY MORE if you’re visiting out of state!)
